Heavy Drinking Among College Leading To Better Girl Condom Use
People always panic when it comes to young women and sex, but throwing alcohol and drugs into the mix and you have some serious widespread hysteria happens.
But recent statistics show that there is nothing to fear, and indeed, to be a little hopeful.
A one-year study found that young women are much better on condom use after drinking alcohol or smoking marijuana, much better than previously thought and their male sexual partners .
Approximately 70% of sex acts taken after drinking involved a condom, while only 59% of them were sober [Walsh]. Even in cases where four or more drinks were consumed, the university has remained steadfast protection. Let's face it: nobody wants to take Plan B surf, right?
There has been a revolution in the way college kids see and use condoms?
Do you have something to do with how easy it is to access condoms on college campuses these days? Previous studies have shown that students are reluctant or ignorant about safe sex. But that does not seem to be the case today, now, it's almost expected, either intoxicated or not state that condoms can participate in the event. The study even found that for some young women, especially those in Asia and Asian beverage can be even more daring to ask their partners to use a condom .
Young women who smoked marijuana before or during sex were also more likely to use a condom during smoking events 67% of women having sex at the top used condoms, against 61% who did everything in smoking [Walsh]. It is not important enough to make a big difference, although women engaged in sex with a stable partner relationship at the top were much less likely to use condoms than almost any other group.
In fact, if the relationship was stable or casual was the greatest indicator of adequate protection or not used, more than any substance use.
Those who engage in sexual intercourse with a steady partner was more relaxed about using condoms. Many use other forms of contraception, and probably thought I would give the latex with a trusted partner. But these sexual encounters that took place with a person or a casual relationship are not as confident. At wisely so. We have already mentioned that nearly 1 in 4 college students have an STD or SI at one time.
If it does not make us hope that young people move in a safe direction, further studies must be done before any assumption on the consumption and condom use are considered evidence. Since no particular focus on young women at a university in Northeast with an already high rate of condom use, a study on the various schools across the country that have different types of programs safe sex practices can produce very different results, as one might examine a group of young men and women who are not in college. But we look forward to a better future with young people who know when it wraps.
